Caterpillars and Butterflies Trail
Sunday 29 March
Children and carers from Llangoed’s Camau Bach pre-school have collaborated with Haulfre Care Home and composer Ellen Davies of Beaumaris to create a musical retelling of a beloved caterpillar story for pre-schoolers and their older siblings. All children are invited to start as caterpillars and transform into butterflies through music, song, and movement.
Many thanks to the Sodexo Holyhead Community Micro Fund for further supporting this unique intergenerational project.
This creative community project was led by professional musician Ellen Davies, who developed an original music and dance piece about caterpillars and butterflies for children and families. Across March and April, a series of intergenerational workshops and craft sessions took place at the Llangoed Village Hall, at Haulfre Residential Care Home, and during Llangoed’s Easter Fair event, bringing residents and families together to create scenery and rehearse. The project culminated in performances at both Llangoed Village Hall and Haulfre as part of the Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail, showcasing strong community involvement and the positive impact.
