Found on a sub-antarctic island, this ancient wood might have been transported in an iceberg. Half a million years ago, the Antarctic was covered in woodlands. This ancient piece wood may have been preserved in a pre-glacial peat bed, then excavated by slow moving ice sheets, which eventually broke away, melted and deposited it on the island in the sub antarctic.
