About Sian Hughes
Sian Hughes is fascinated by porcelain and latex, their translucent properties and their ability to pick up surface detail. She is currently using these materials out of doors in the landscape of Traeth Mawr and Traeth Bach, Porthmadog and throughout North Wales where she lives and works.
About Artist Multiples
Artist multiples are a series of objects produced in small and limited editions. They can be created by an artist, a maker, a crafts-person or any kind of creative person. Creating a numbered set of multiples is especially useful when using production techniques that are not viable for producing one-off pieces, for example printing, laser cutting or casting.
The objects can be functional, sculptural, wearable, gift-able or hangable. They are made specifically for sale and are offered at an affordable price to encouraging distribution to a wide audience. Historically, multiples were seen as an alternative and more democratic means of creating and disseminating artwork, outside of the mainstream art market.
