'Farewell' Pat Arnao

Return to Unus Multorum 2020

Rip stop nylon, rope, sail riggings
18’ x 10’ each

Whether facing change of a voluntary decision, relocation or displacement, we pass through an ambiguous space, beginning with a departure and ending with an arrival. It’s in this liminal space where we surrender to change and transition--and navigate statehood, gender, language, relationships and all qualities which “define” us.

Farewell is a life-sized representation of the journey between a place of departure and arrival, between here and there. It investigates that liminal space where we navigate citizenship, language, relationships and transitions. This work is a part of 'Unus Multorum' an exhibition that was meant to have opened in April, 2020 with projects and installations from 111 creative people. Transformed by the global pandemic, it has evolved into a time-less project, gently unfolding over the course of the year inside the house and in the digital realm. All images, videos, texts, tours and more are gathered here : https://www.plasbodfa.com/unus-multorum-2020
