'Loom Installation' Stanley & Bould

Return to Unus Multorum 2020

This multi-layered installation uses threads and fragments of looms as a means of connection -  connecting floors of the house, connecting ideas about looms, construction and shared experience. This installation also connects to artworks at Oriel Mon and to the studio of Helen Grove-White in Brynddu Llanfechell.

2020 materials : derelict loom, (a personal treasured object and family heirloom), time, loom parts, threads, stones from a neolithic henge discovered at Wylfa, two rooms - one above the other connected by a stairway, invited connections and contributions, drawing materials, conversation This multi-layered installation uses threads and fragments of looms as a means of connection - connecting floors of the house, connecting ideas about looms, construction and shared experience. The video was created by both creatives during the COVID-19 lockdown period, as a way to continue their collaboration and as a gathering point for their evolving ideas and connections. Our planned exhibition 'Unus Multorum' was meant to have opened in April, 2020 with projects and installations from 111 creative people. Transformed by the global pandemic, it has evolved into a time-less project, gently unfolding over the course of the year inside the house and in the digital realm. All works, exhibition tours, interviews, texts and more are gathered here : https://www.plasbodfa.com/unus-multorum-2020
