Llongyfarchiadau Mai Thomas!
Mai is spending time with the erratics of Lleniog Beach, learning their origin stories and understanding their complex material makeup. Her monumental scale drawings will be created from natural pigments derived from the landscape itself.
The Red Squirrels Trust Wales & Magical Mammals - Commission and Micro-residency
Llongyfarchiadau Angharad Ffion Martin!
Angharad is learning about the complex and intertwined ecosystems of our most local environment - the Aberlleiniog woodland. She is creating a series of animal forms, light and sound sculptures created from natural and foraged materials, covered with semi-translucent naturally preserved leaves.
GeoMôn UNESCO Geopark
Commission and Micro-residency
Llongyfarchiadau Ellen Davies & Meilyr Tomos
They’re creating an interactive soundscape that turns geology and climate data into music and movement — blending live cello, dance, traditional notation and immersive audio. They are tapping into the seismic activity of the Menai Straits and diving deep into the geological record. They have interviewed Dr Anthony Heeley, Iwan Kellett and have been recording, composing and creating!

About
The Trail takes place annually, within the timings of the well-established Anglesey Open Studios.

The Trail is headquartered and hosted by Llangoed Village Hall.
The Trail is produced by Plas Bodfa Projects CIC, who manages the fundraising, permissions, the collaborative projects, commissions, communications and the Open Call.

We work with
We are grateful for all our supportive partners and volunteers!
Special thanks to:
• GeoMôn UNESCO Geopark and Red Squirrels Trust for supporting our very first set of art commissions and micro-residencies, allowing the selected artists to embed themselves within their organisations, generously sharing their expertise, resources and time. The commissions enabled the artists to devote special attention towards creating a new body of work for the Sculpture Trail.
• Culture Colony for creating thoughtful and inspiring video documentation of the event, interviewing artists, celebrating their works and reflecting the energy of the weekend.
• Seiriol Alliance Good Turn Scheme, for enabling free shuttle service from all our trail locations.
• vinyls4U for all their help with the trail map scanning.
